Springfield, Ohio History Sliders

I found a really cool method for comparing past and present photographs. Here are a few pictures I’ve been experimenting this method with (more to come soon! Update: And by soon, I mean right now! Be sure to check the new sliders out when you’re done):

Main Street

Snyder Park Rest House

Littleton & Son Funeral Parlor

Warder Residence / Jones Kennedy Zechman Funeral Home

King Building Fire (1956)

Your past/present pix are awesome!!! I was born in Springfield 65 years ago but didn’t live here permanently until the mid-nineties. I actually grew-up(some friends would debate the grown-up part) in Dayton(after college parents found jobs in Dayton), but between 1948 and 1995 made many trips to Springfield to visit grandparents and other relatives. Your pictures take me back to those times and fond memories of Springfield. Thank you, Ric
PS…As an antique dealer who restores old Schwinn bicycles, I do have several old postcards of Springfield you may want to see sometime. I must tell you my collection is nothing compared to some of the other collections I’ve seen..email me anytime…Ric
